What is your legacy?

Oh Today has been super amazing. The busses and trains were on strike today, which doesn't really affect me since I live so close to the city center, however I still stayed near my dorm. I went to the mensa in the Hauptgebaude (main building) and I got a cheap lunch and began to work on an essay I have to write (all in german!) I was encouraged by how far I got and how much I could write in German without the use of a dictionary or a translator... (heh..:-D) It was nice. I spent 5 hours there, working on my essay and then finishing with some Ephesians reading and some journaling. I'm also reading Middlemarch by George Eliot (who if you guys know your feminist history was really a woman). I like the book.

Well, Sara and Sean, two close friends of mine arrive in a week. Today I called their vermieterin (landlord) for the student apartments they will be staying in-- I had a conversation and set up appointments all by myself all in german!! I am scared to do things like that in America even!! And Father is answering prayers left and right! I have a friend from Romania and I believe we will spend much more time together.. it is an amazing opportunity to share life and my heart with her. :-)

The time here is going quickly and I find that even though some days seem long, that the time is slipping by way too fast.

one of my hugest pet peeves is when people say "God willing." I don't think we should live our lives in uncertainty. Sure, we know life is uncertain, each day may be our last, but I don't think each day is meant to be lived as our last-- because if so, we forget to just... live and move and find our being in Christ. This is what I long for, not to live each day to my last, but to live each day for Christ. I expect the 29th of February to come. So I will say "See you on the 29th." If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen, but I don't think there is a need to couple everything i say with the phrase "God willing"....

Or maybe people saying "God willing" just annoys me.

I tend to find my strength in things of this world. My grades, compliments people give me, coffee, when someone actually takes an interest in my life (even though it's extremely hard to verbally show an interest in other lives), sleep,money, certainty of things to come, comfort from friends, self, my family, food. Eventually I find that all these things are things I am hiding behind. I am weak. Sometimes I love the things of this world entirely too much, it's only in Christ that I can find full strength. What do I seek in life? My own perfection? Or Christ?

I naturally seek to make a name for myself, but I serve the God who's name is above all names, not only in the previous generation, this generation but also in the one to come, forever... his name is above all names. His foolishness is wiser than anything I can even imagine.

Yet... I will rejoice in the Lord, I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength.- Habbakuk 3.

We are officially a month into the new year. Already, I feel like 2008 is a year of changes-- changes of the heart. There is a longing in me to know the word, to be in the word, linger on each phrase, each comma, each breath taken. I pray this is something I continue to do, as Father is revealing more and more of himself to me daily. I am learning that to have the eyes of my heart enlightened, I must venture into the heart of Christ. I don't want to live with a faith that is based on fact telling, yet a faith that screams of creation, the fall, redemption, of future, of wonder of hope.

This month I have felt Father drawing me to pray for the future. I've also begun to ask Father HOW. How do I study? How do I respond? How do I encourage? Instead of help me study, help me learn, help me respond, help me encourage.


There are many opportunities arising in Hannover. The soil is so ripe, and the need for workers is a need that is present. I am praying the believers here would rise up and long to see this nation fall more so in love with their creator.


There is so much I could talk about, but honestly, I feel like what I have to tell you, is not much different than what is going on in your towns. We tend to make what is going on overseas much more than it is. Fact of the matter is-- life is the same, opportunities are the same. The soil is ripe where you are as well.

I feel like I have learned so much this month about our Father, about those drawing to his name. I long to know him even more. If you want to know more specifically what i've learned you can message me. There's a lot, and I am falling more in love with Father, daily... and i'm thankful for that..
